Application area
GOST 1208−90 (now replaced by GOST 1208−2014) applies to bronze round extruded pipes used for the manufacture of various parts.
The standard establishes the assortment, technical requirements, acceptance rules, control and testing methods, packaging, labeling, transportation and storage of pipes. The standard also establishes the main terms and definitions that apply to bronze tubing rolled by pressing technology.

Technical requirements
Pipes are manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in accordance with the established procedure.
Pipes are made of bronze pressed BrAZhMts 10−3-1,5 and BRAZHN 10−4-4 with a chemical composition that meets the requirements of GOST 18175.
The outer and inner surfaces of the pipes should be free from contamination and oxidation, making it difficult to visually inspect, without shells, cracks, captures, delaminations and bubbles. Individual small surface defects are allowed: dents, minor risks and traces of cleaning of local defects, if they do not lead the pipes for size deviations in the control sweep. Allowed on the surface of the pipes are ringing and tint.
Metal pipes should be without internal defects in the form of nonmetallic inclusions, shells, press-weights, delaminations and other defects. Pipes should be evenly cut and should not have significant burrs.

For the manufacture of separators of rolling bearings, bronze tubes of BrAZhMts 10−3-1.5 grade should have a temporary resistance of at least 590 MPa, an elongation after rupture of at least 12%, hardness, HB 129−171.
