Bronze brand C93800 (another name according to the DIN EN specification — CuSn7 Pb15 alloy, this material is also produced according to ASTM B505 and B271 under the name 2.1183) is a tin bronze alloyed with an increased amount of lead. This bronze is resistant to the phenomena of surface mechanical damage, structural homogeneity, increased resistance to shear stress, and low cost. Compressive strength is reduced, therefore under heavy operating conditions the material is not applied.
Urgency of application
Bronze grade C93800 (2.1183, CuSn7Pb15) is used for the manufacture of such products as heavy-loaded bearings, bushings (including centrifuges), gears, cogwheels, worm wheels, liners, piston rings, pump components and valves, sleeves, steam fittings. Areas of use are the production of sanitary fittings and weapons, general engineering, power and transport machine tools. It is not recommended for the manufacture of parts that are used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
