Aluminum profiles are made, as a rule, by the method of hot pressing according to GOST 22233−93, GOST 22233−2001; 8617−81 from aluminum alloys: АД31Т1, АД31Т5, Д16, Д31, etc. The profile surface can be covered with polymer paint or anodized.

The dimensions and shapes of the profiles correspond to GOST 13619, 13624,13738, 17576, 13620, 13618, 13617, 13616, 13623, 13622, 13621, 17575, 13737. The profile is cut at a right angle. Its length is about 2 — 6 m (according to GOST 22233−93), also 1−10 m (according to GOST 8617−81).

Classification

On the cross-section:

D — hollow profiles — cross-section has both open and closed cavities;

Anodizing

The surface of any aluminum profile has a film that prevents its oxidation. It is formed after the reaction of oxygen with aluminum, but this layer is very thin, and also not resistant to mechanical damage. To obtain a more durable coating, the method of artificial anodizing of alloys is used. The workpiece, for example, is immersed in a solution of acid electrolyte (H ₂ SO ₄ or H ₂ CrO ₄), is connected to the current source by a positive pole. Outstanding oxygen begins to interact with aluminum, forming an oxide film on the surface. The thickness of the resulting protective coating depends on the purpose and can be different. For example, for anodized aluminum, which is used indoors, this figure can be 15 μm, for profiles that are exposed to all kinds of climatic conditions — 2 0 mkm.

The anodized aluminum profile is protected reliably from corrosion, more durable, has a matt and uniform surface. The process of decorative anodizing allows the aluminum profile to be anodized in addition to protective properties, as well as the required shade: «gold», «pearls», etc. The anodized aluminum profile is used for decoration of design details.
