Technical specifications
Stainless steel AISI 410L (1.4003) is a low-carbon steel of the ferritic class, which is characterized by increased plasticity and sufficient resistance to abrasion. Its high corrosion resistance in comparison with carbon steels allows to reduce the maintenance costs and extend the service life of the products. A lower percentage of chromium limits the anticorrosive capabilities of this steel, but it helps to replace products made from conventional carbon steels with a relatively small increase in cost.
Urgency of application
Typical applications of steel AISI 410L (1.4003) are railway and trackless vehicles, freight containers, industrial moving products operating under conditions that contribute to heavy wear and tear: mine conveyors and conveyors, pipelines for pumping abrasive-containing compounds and mixtures, and chemical equipment.
Chemical composition
The composition of steel AISI 410L (1.4003) according to the technical requirements of UNS ASTM S40977 includes the following elements (iron-base):

Technological features of processing and assortment
Stainless steel AISI 410L (1.4003) is available in a wide range of rolling profiles, with volume rolling available both in cold and hot rolled conditions. Wire is used for drawing wire.
This steel is highly rigid, and therefore suitable for use in welded structures. Unlike other ferritic steels, AISI 410L (1.4003) retains its viscosity even under conditions of welding at negative temperatures.
