Production
Duralumin sheet is produced in accordance with GOST 21631−76 from alloy D16 with chemical composition, normalized GOST 4784−74 or from VD1 (chemical composition of GOST 1131−76). The manufacturing accuracy is normal, the quality of the surface finish is standard. GOST 24231−80 normalizes the sampling for the control of the chemical composition.

Marking
1. D16AM and VD1AM — annealed sheets with normal cladding.
2. D16 and VD1 — sheets not clad, without heat treatment.
3. D16AT and VD1AT — hardened and naturally aged with normal plating.
4. D16T — hardened and naturally aged sheets, not clad.
5. VD1AN and VD1AN2 — cold-worked and half-worked with normal cladding.
6. D16BT and D16UT — hardened and naturally aged with technological or thick plating.
7. ВД1НР — hard and refined sheet dural.
After quenching, the microstructure of the articles should not have traces of burnt. After the heat treatment they are tested.
Application
Sheets of brand D16 have high plasticity, corrosion resistance are perfectly processed by cutting, have satisfactory weldability, strength. They are used as fragments of hulls of river, sea vessels or aircraft. Often used for finishing interior interiors. The alloy VD1 also has high strength and is well welded by spot welding. Used for the lining of trucks, fuselage aircraft, the production of building structures.
