Technical specifications
Tantalum is silver metal, with a characteristic luster, which is distinguished by high corrosion resistance. Tantalum, long recognized for its excellent strength at high temperatures, is also one of the most corrosion-resistant metals, resistant to most acids, comparable to the resistance to glass and platinum.
Due to the strength at high temperatures and excellent corrosion resistance, tantalum grounding discs are constantly covered with a thin and very strong oxide film. This ensures reliable grounding of conductive parts of equipment with increased energy intensity, as well as under high voltage.
Given the good plasticity of tantalum, its stamping and dimensional cutting on grounding disks of various sizes is not particularly difficult
Urgency of application
Tantalum grounding disks are used in laboratory equipment operating at high currents and voltages, in electron-beam furnaces, in high-temperature installations for the production of refractory ceramics and special glass. In terms of performance, they replace platinum discs.

Assortment and application features
For the production of tantalum grounding discs, rolling profiles, castings and sintered parts that meet the requirements of TU 11−78, TU 95.205−78 and SU0.021 are used. 016−77. In view of the high plasticity, the initial preforms can also be a tantalum scrap, which is then remelted and reshaped into discs of the required diameter and thickness.
Tantalum grounding disks can not be used in plants associated with the production of hydrofluoric acid, strong alkalis, oxalic acid and fuming sulfuric acid, as well as any solution containing fluoride ions. All these substances easily destroy tantalum.
