Technical specifications
Tungsten electrodes of the brand WC-20 («gray») contain cerium oxide, which makes it possible to improve the emission properties of the product and stabilize the arc discharge in «soft» modes corresponding to small processing currents and low voltages. Such modes are used for electric welding with a small welding cycle (welding of thin-walled metal, small-sized products). They are also relevant for orbital welding of pipelines, when the electrode completes a full revolution around a stationary tubular blank. This method is mainly used for welding stainless steel pipes.
The power of the electronic transgression of WC-20 electrodes is 2.4 eV, which is less than that of the thorium-tungsten electrode.
Urgency of application
