Composition
Nichrome contains a base of nickel with chromium. The composition is enriched with such elements as: iron, aluminum, silicon, manganese, titanium, sulfur, phosphorus, carbon up to 1%. The physical properties of various grades of the alloy are determined by the proportion of the main components, as well as additives. Nickel has the property of dissolving other metals, while not losing its resistance to corrosion, heat resistance, plasticity. Chromium improves corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, gives the alloy a hardness.

Advantages of Nichrome
One of the main most important qualities of this alloy is a rare electrical resistance equal to 1.12 ohmmm2 / m and a high melting point. The brand Х20Н80 is able to withstand heating up to tº 1200ºС, and mark Х15Н60 — up to 1125 ° C. At the same time, the minimum temperature coefficient of expansion does not allow the wire to sag.
