The solid alloy T15K6 is a highly melting compound of solid, ceramic tungsten carbide with temperature resistant titanium carbide in the presence of viscous cobalt. This material is a composite of a metal matrix in which cobalt particles are placed in a matrix of tungsten carbide. Tungsten carbide has the formula WC, and titanium carbide — ТіС.
Due to the low percentage of carbon, the hardness and wear resistance of the alloy under consideration is lower than that of a similar alloy matrix BK15, but the permissible shear strength increases and the toughness does not decrease.
Urgency of application
T15K6 hard alloy is used in the manufacture of a variety of metal cutting tools, in particular for semi-black and fine turning, thread cutting on metal cutting machines, semi-finished and finished milling, reaming, reaming and boring pre-treated holes and other operations that are performed with carbonaceous or alloyed steels.
