General Provisions

GOST 5950−2000 normalizes the production of stamping steels. It determines the chemical composition of steels, the technical conditions for their production, the forms and methods for testing the quality of finished products. This standard applies to hot-rolled bars, strips and coils, forged bars and strips, calibrated bars and coils, rods with special surface finish (hereinafter — metal products) from tool steel. Classification

— according to their intended use, depending on the steel grade — in two groups (Appendix A):

1. I — manufacture of tools used mainly for processing metals and other materials in the cold state;
2. II — manufacture of a tool used in the future for the consumer for metal working with pressure at temperatures above 300 ° C;

— by the method of further processing, hot-rolled and forged metal products of Groups I and II are subdivided into subgroups:

1. a — for hot working with pressure (including precipitation, disembarkation), as well as cold drawing — without control of structural characteristics;
2. b — for cold machining (turning, gouging, milling, etc.) — with the full volume of tests;

— In terms of surface quality and finish, metal products are divided into: hot-rolled and forged in:

1. 2π is for the subgroup a;
2. ZGP — subgroups of high quality;
3. 4GP — subgroups b of ordinary quality;
4. calibrated — on B and B;
5. with a special surface finish — on B, G, D.
