Astm B444, N06625. Pipes made of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, niobium.

Astm B444, N06625. Pipes made of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, niobium.

Are you interested in the ASTM B444 standard and the specification for seamless pipes made of nickel alloys containing chromium, molybdenum and niobium from the supplier company AvekGlob? Here you will find interesting information on this topic.

General information

The following specifications cover UNS N06625 and UNS N06852, and relate to pipes manufactured from alloys of the «nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium» and «nickel-chromium-molybdenum-silicon» systems. Standard ASTM B444 applies to seamless pipes and pipes manufactured by cold rolling technology. The specifications for UNS N06219 alloy of the same sort are also included here.

UNS N06625 products are supplied in annealed condition, while UNS N06219 and UNS N06852 are only in the annealed state. On each type of material, chemical tests should be carried out to check the conformity of the chemical composition with respect to such elements as carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, chromium, tantalum, niobium, cobalt, molybdenum, iron, aluminum, titanium, copper and proper nickel. The material undergoes tensile testing and must meet the required strength limits at room temperature, such as tensile strength, yield strength and elongation, depending on the heat treatment used, including for small diameter pipes and thin walls.

Each pipe made from these types of nickel alloys undergoes a hydrostatic test and must comply with permissible stress values and also be checked using established non-destructive electronic control methods described in ASTM B444.

Application area

ASTM B444 covers alloys of the nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium system (UNS N06625 and UNS N06852) and the nickel-chromium-molybdenum-silicon system (UNS N06219), in the range of seamless cold-rolled pipes. General requirements for products are specified in B829.

Supplier — AvekGlob Company — offers seamless cold-rolled pipes at a reasonable price from a manufacturer in a wide range of sizes, which are produced in accordance with ASTM B444 standard from nickel alloys. The supplier guarantees the timely delivery of products to any address specified by the consumer.

Delivery conditions

Products UNS N06625 are supplied in two classes of different thermally processed conditions:

1st class (annealed condition) — pipes are usually used at operating temperatures up to 593 ° C;

2nd class (after annealing) — pipes are usually used at operating temperatures above 593 ° C, when higher values of the ultimate strength (creep) and tensile strength are required.

The specifications of the standard in question allow re-heat treatment of pipes if, as a result, the required mechanical properties of nickel alloys determined by UNS N06625, UNS N06219 and UNS N06852 are achieved. In this case, nickel alloys according to UNS N06219 and UNS N06852 are supplied only in the annealed condition.

Safety requirements

This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns (if any) associated with its use. The user of this standard is responsible for acquaintance with all hazards, including those specified in the relevant safety data sheet for alloys and products made from them (seamless tubes) provided by the manufacturer for establishing good occupational safety and health practices. The user is also required to determine the applicability of regulatory restrictions before use.
