Classification and preparatory transitions
There are four basic processes for manual electrode welding:
Shielded arc welding
MIG / metal welding with inert gas
Arc welding under a layer of flux

During the movement of the electrode along the welding line, it continues to melt, creating a crater and replenishing the welding bath.

Electrode selection for welding
It is determined by the nature of the welding joint. When flat welding any type of electrode is suitable, it is important to choose the correct electrode holder. Its material is subject to certain requirements for mechanical strength, including bending. It is believed that the strength of the electrode holder should be twice the limit of the temporary resistance of the welded steel.

difficulty in moving the electrode holder. For complex surfaces, both hands should be used (therefore the mask has a preference in front of the shield);
To improve the quality of the welded seam, the electrode is moved in a circular motion.
