The use of brass in metallurgy
Are you interested in the metallurgy of brass from the supplier company AvecGlob? Here you will find the necessary information on this topic.
Stages of metallurgy of brass
Most brass is machined in the form of forged shapes, rods, rods, wires, plates, flat strips or cut sheets. The principal explanation of the metallurgical production is given below.
Stages of smelting
The process of brass usually begins with the processing of brass scrap or other copper alloy from the scrap. In case scrap is not available, purified cathode copper is combined with zinc for making brass alloy.
Copper is first melted in an electric induction furnace, and at the beginning of the melting process, it is covered with a layer of charcoal. Zinc is added to the molten scrap or copper to bring the composition to the desired level, if brass is required. The chemical composition of the charge is checked with an X-ray or spark spectrometer to check the content of zinc, copper and impurities.
The cast brass solidifies into the appropriate mold by means of a casting operation. There are several types of casting: continuous, semi-continuous or static, but most of the products from brass of large volume are cast from semi-continuous billet or casting of sintered billet.
The cast or sintered preforms are further subjected to hot working by rolling or extrusion. Continuous cast material can be processed without hot working.
The surfaces are cleaned by grinding or etching in sulfuric acid to remove a variety of oxides resulting from metallurgical reactions, rolling or drawing, and annealing to obtain the proper shape and temperature for the intended application.
Then the brass is finally cut into the required shape as needed and packed to protect against physical damage and oxidation.
When brass of particularly high purity is required, electrometallurgical techniques are used, when the precipitation of the semi-finished products takes place on copper cathodes.
Supplier — AvekGlob Company — offers various types of products from brass alloys of domestic and foreign production, which meets the requirements of standards. The products are offered at affordable prices from the manufacturer. The supplier guarantees the timely delivery of products to any address specified by the consumer.
Subsequent processing
Includes hot pressing of brass, its grinding, cutting and plastic / machining. Hot pressing of brass is carried out on horizontal or vertical hydraulic presses. After the forming process, the workpieces are moved to the cutting step. Measured workpieces undergo the required operations of punching or machining on metal-cutting machines. The type of raw material scarcity and the need to reduce waste are used in CNC machines where direct or oblique drilling, thread cutting, milling in combination with special operations is performed.
Supplier — AvekGlob Company — offers to purchase assorted brass alloys of domestic and foreign production. Products can be bought at a price formed on the basis of European and world standards. Implementation is possible in bulk and retail, for regular customers, a flexible system of discounts operates.
