Contact welding of bronze
Are you interested in contact welding of bronze from the supplier company AvecGlob? Here you will find the necessary information on this topic.
Features of resistance welding
Contact pressure welding of bronze products is rarely used because it is inefficient due to the high heat capacity of most of these alloys. Cold pressure welding, conducted at ambient temperature, is based on the use of high compression pressure (2800−3300 MPa). At these pressures, the strength of the joined parts can be ensured only for workpieces from large-diameter rolled products.
This method provides interphase deformations from 60% to 80%, which destroy the oxide layers to expose a fresh, uncontaminated metal that has a good diffusion bond of adjacent volumes.
Technology
The process of contact welding can be realized both as a flat and as a spatial structure. Butt welds can connect products with a length of at least 12 mm at a single-sided applied pressure, the surfaces to be joined must be thoroughly cleaned. At a variable pressure applied to the welded bronze blanks, the surface area can be increased.
In those cases where an application requires the connection of sheets with overlays for themselves or rods, a series of small welds can be used in series. When calculating the force, it should be borne in mind that at least half the area of the contact surface will be distorted or deformed.
Supplier — AvekGlob Company — offers to purchase assortment of various bronze alloys of domestic and foreign brands. Products can be bought at a price formed on the basis of European and world standards. Implementation is possible in bulk and retail, for regular customers, a flexible system of discounts operates.
Variants of execution of processes of butt-contact bronze welding
Butt welding technology can be used when connecting bronze pipes. Since the process is performed at ambient temperature, there are no thermal effects on the parts to be connected, and welding takes place quickly. However, butt contact welding, because of the need for dies, is a specialized process, and therefore it is cost-effective only with significant volumes of production.
Due to the fact that the welds are made in a solid state, they are difficult to check; thus, one should rely only on the visual control of the junction.
Application
The greatest application of bronze welding under cold pressure is the sealing of heat-sensitive containers containing explosives (for example, detonators). In the electronics industry, cold welding processes are used to seal the bronze multilayer packets for heat-sensitive semiconductor devices.
