Application area
The current version is GOST 5632−2014, which replaced GOST 5632−72. GOST applies to alloyed stainless deformable steels and alloys on iron-nickel and nickel bases, intended for work in corrosive environments and at high temperatures.
Classification
According to this standard, all the steel of the groups under consideration are divided into the following classes:
- Alloyed stainless steels: steels with a minimum mass fraction of chromium of 10.5% and a maximum mass fraction of carbon of 1.2%. For a limited number of alloyed stainless steels, a minimum chromium content of 7.5% is permissible;
- Alloys on the iron-nickel base: alloys whose basic structure is a solid solution of chromium and other alloying elements in the iron-nickel base (the sum of nickel and iron is more than 65%, with an approximate ratio of nickel to iron, 1: 1.5);
- Nickel-base alloys: alloys whose basic structure is a solid solution of chromium and other alloying elements in a nickel base (nickel mass fraction is not less than 50%);
- Corrosion and relaxation-resistant steels and alloys: steels and alloys that are resistant to electrochemical and chemical corrosion (atmospheric, soil, alkaline, acidic, salt), intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion, etc .;
- Heat-resistant (scale-resistant) steels and alloys: steels and alloys that are resistant to chemical destruction of the surface in gas media at temperatures above 550 ° C, operating in an unloaded or lightly loaded state;
- Heat-resistant steels and alloys: steels and alloys that operate in a loaded state at high temperatures for a certain time and have sufficient heat resistance at the same time.
