Scope and range

This standard applies to tungsten wire made by powder metallurgy. Wire is used in the manufacture of electronic devices and light sources.
The diameter of the wire and the maximum deviations along it, as well as the maximum deviations in the mass of the length of the 200 mm wire from the nominal mass, must correspond to those indicated in the table.

Notes:
1. Wire with a diameter of 5 to 12 mm with an interval of 0.5 is made by electrochemical etching of drawn wire. The permissible deviation of the mass of a piece of wire 200 mm long should not be more than ± 0.01 mg. The permissible deviation by mass of a segment in percent is not regulated.
2. By agreement of the parties, wire with other nominal diameters, as well as with other limiting deviations from the nominal diameter, may be manufactured.
3. The purpose and group of the wire is determined depending on the grade of tungsten and the state of the surface.

4. The unevenness of the diameter (mass of a 200 mm section) of a wire of 100 μm or less in length on a single coil should not exceed half the tolerance for a diameter.
