Application of nickel alloys in aviation and space
Are you interested in using nickel alloys in aviation and cosmonautics from the supplier company AvecGlob? Here you will find interesting information on this topic /
General characteristics of nickel alloys
Nickel alloys are widely used in aviation and cosmonautics because of their high corrosion resistance, including at high temperatures, and also because of their special magnetic and thermal properties. Of these, engines are predominantly made.
Abroad for these purposes, alloys are most often used alloy NIMONIC 75 and alloy INCONEL, well-proven in civil and military jet engines.
INCONEL alloy 600 is the standard technical material for applications requiring corrosion and high temperature resistance. Its excellent mechanical properties provide high strength and good machinability.
In an aircraft field, the INCONEL 600 alloy is used for various jet engines and airframe components, such as a sluice, exhaust pipes and turbine seals.
An outstanding characteristic of the alloy INCONEL 601 is its resistance to high-temperature oxidation and water corrosion. INCONEL alloy 601 has a high mechanical strength, it is easily deformed, processed and welded, making it a widely used material in jet engines and the aerospace industry as a whole.
INCONEL alloy 713C is widely used due to its good casting characteristics, structural stability and high strength, as well as ductility at elevated temperatures.
Commercial applications include jet engine blades. The alloy is also used in the manufacture of turbine blades of power equipment.
NIMONIC-with melt 75 is mainly used for applications in sheet constructions that are exposed to high-temperature corrosion under mechanical influences (for example, for hulls of airplanes or missiles). The alloy NIMONIC 75 is well processed and welded.
UDIMET® alloy 720 is another nickel alloy that is used in aerospace applications.
