Application area

These technical conditions apply to dimensional sheet blanks, which are made of molybdenum of MCH and MCHVP grades, and are designed for manufacturing large-sized structures used in electrothermal production and other industries.



Technical requirements



Molybdenum billets of MCH and MCHVP grades must be made from powder molybdenum blanks of MCH grade and molybdenum ingots of MCHVP grade, which are obtained by vacuum melting technology.
The dimensions and limit deviations for the dimensions of the blanks shall be as specified in the table

Quality indicators



Edges of blanks should be chopped off or cut off. Stratification on the edges of workpieces, which occurs after trimming, is allowed on a width of 2.5 mm; length — 5.0 mm and is not a defective sign. In agreement with the consumer, blanks with a thickness of more than 2.0 mm are supplied without edge chipping.
The surface of the blanks must be cleaned of the oxide film or degreased. As agreed with the consumer, traces of process lubrication are allowed on the surface of the blanks.
Cracks and delaminations on the surface of blanks are not allowed. Impressions of rolls, pricks, indentations, scratches, traces of stripping that do not lead to thickness beyond the tolerances allowed, shades of etching are not a defect.
Blanks should be manufactured with the following tolerances in terms of flatness: deviation from flatness along the rolling direction (deflection) should be no more than 10% of the measured length of blanks; the deviation from flatness across the rolling direction (bumpiness) should not be more than 5% of the measured width of the workpieces. The total waviness of the blanks is not a sign of marriage.
