Scope

These specifications apply to products of molybdenum and its alloys, obtained by the technology of vacuum arc melting followed by grinding. Products are used for special purposes.



Technical requirements



Billets of molybdenum, and its alloys are classified according to the method of producing metal blanks in the following grades:

MCIT — vacuum remelting ingots obtained by melting powder blanks of molybdenum stamps MCH with the use of carbon as a deoxidizer;

TSM-2A — vacuum remelting ingots obtained by melting powder blanks of molybdenum brand mshv with the use of the alloying elements zirconium and titanium;

Mr-47 — vacuum remelting ingots obtained from molybdenum with the use of rhenium as an alloying element.

The nominal dimensions of the strips and limit deviations of the dimensions must meet the requirements specified in the table below:.

For workpieces brands MCIT and CM-2A, in agreement with the manufacturer is allowed:

  • delivery 15% by weight of the delivered batch of workpieces with a diameter of from 0.8 to 8.0 mm or 50% by weight of the delivered batch of workpieces with a diameter from 9.0 to 18.0 mm in length not less than 250 mm;
  • blank production intermediate nominal diameter limit deviation for diameter equal to nearest larger;
  • delivery of workpieces with a length of 30 mm with maximum deviation in length ±2.0 mm;
  • delivery of workpieces with a diameter of 2.5 mm and less extreme deviations on diameter of ±0.03 mm with length from 30 to 65 mm.

For workpieces of the brand Mr-47 length and maximum length deviation can be established by agreement with the manufacturer.

Note: blanks brand MCIT a higher mass fraction of impurities of aluminum, iron, calcium, magnesium, while maintaining the amounts of mass fraction of aluminum + iron, calcium + magnesium.


The quality of the products


The uniformity of the diameter along the entire length of the workpiece must be within permissible deviations in diameter. The workpiece must be straight. The deviation from straightness shall not exceed 0,5% of the length of the workpiece. For workpieces with a diameter of 2.5 mm or less, with the limit deviation for diameter ±0,03 mm the deviation from straightness shall not exceed 0.1% of the length.
The surface of the workpieces must be free of traces of graphite grease, oxides, burrs, longitudinal strokes, captive, cross scratches and cracks. Transverse strokes of the grinding, not deducing the dimensions of the workpiece beyond the permissible deviations in diameter, on the edges, oxidation marks, chips, burrs rejection symptom are not.
Blanks should not have internal delaminations and cracks. The roughness parameter RA of the surface of the workpiece should not be more than 1.25 µm GOST 2789−73.
