GOST R 50278-92. Pipes drill with welded locks. Technical specifications

GOST R 50278-92. Pipes drill with welded locks. Technical specifications

Are you interested in GOST R 50278−92 «Drilling pipes with welded locks» from the supplier Avek Glob? We guarantee high quality products and a large selection of rolled metal products with worldwide delivery.

Application area

This standard applies to seamless steel pipes with attached ends and welded to them locks, designed for the construction of oil and gas wells.

Main features of connections

Drill pipes with welded locks must be made with three types of planted ends:
PV — with internal landing;
PC — with combined landing;
Mon — with an external landing.
In accordance with the order, pipes of all types must be manufactured with locks having a rectangular or conical shoulder under the elevator, as well as with a right or left thread. The lock must be carried out in accordance with the technical requirements of GOST 27834.

Pipes with welded locks must be manufactured in three groups of lengths according to the table:

Parameter name Length group
  1 2 3
Pipe length, m 5.9−6.3 8.0−8.6 11.9−12.5
Notes
1 The length of the pipe is defined as the distance between the thrust shoulder of the pin and the stop face of the lock clutch.
2 Pipes with diameters of 60, 73 and 89 mm produce three groups of lengths, pipes of diameter 102, 114, 127 and 140 mm of the second and third group.

Supplier — AvekGlob Company — offers at a reasonable price from the manufacturer a diverse range of drill pipe connections that meet all the technical requirements of GOST R 50278−92. The supplier guarantees the timely delivery of products to any address specified by the consumer.

Technical requirements

Pipes must be manufactured in accordance with the requirements of this standard for technological regulations approved in accordance with the established procedure.
On the outer and inner surfaces of the pipes there should be no captivity, shells, sunsets, delaminations, cracks, sand-holes and flaws.
It is allowed to cut and clean these defects only along the axis of the pipe, provided that cutting and mopping do not remove the wall thickness for the maximum minus deviations.
Welding, caulking or sealing of defects are not allowed.
In places where the thickness of the wall can be measured directly, the depth of the defective places may exceed the marginal minus deviations, provided that the minimum wall thickness is maintained, defined as the difference between the nominal wall thickness of the pipe and the limiting minus deviation thereof.
Allowed for some minor nicks, dents, risks, a thin layer of scale and other defects caused by the method of production, if they do not lead to a wall thickness beyond the limits of minus deviations.

The surface of the planted part of the pipe and the place of its transition to a part with wall thickness should not have sharp benches.

Pipes should be made of steels of strength group D, E, L, M and P.
The mass fraction of sulfur and phosphorus in steels should be:
not more than 0.035% of each — for pipes of strength groups D, E, L;
not more than 0.020% of each — for pipes of strength groups M and P.
Pipes of all strength groups should be subjected to heat treatment along the entire length after the landing of the ends.
The mechanical properties of the pipe metal after heat treatment should be as shown in the table:

Indicator name The norm of mechanical properties of steel of strength group
