Application area

These technical specifications apply to sheet and bulk metal products made of molybdenum alloy ЦМ-2А, which is produced using vacuum remelting technology. Bars, forgings and sheets are designed for manufacturing parts and products for various purposes.

Delivery conditions and mechanical characteristics


Delivery of sheets is made with the maximum deviations in width and length ± 10,0 mm. As agreed by the parties, sheets with other nominal sizes and marginal deviations are allowed. As agreed by the parties, dimensional sheets of length and width with tolerance deviations of ± 15.0 mm are allowed.

The ends of the bars and the edges of the sheets must be cut off. The surface of rods, forgings and sheets must meet the following requirements:

  • On the surface of polished rods cracks and contamination are not allowed. Risks, scratches, traces of abrasive stripping, which do not lead to the dimensions of polished rods beyond the limits of tolerated deviations, are not signs of rejection;
  • Uncured cracks and dirt are not allowed on the surface of turned rods. Fingerprints, risks, scratches, traces of abrasive stripping that do not take out the dimensions of the turned rods beyond the limits of tolerable deviations, are not signs of rejection;
  • On the surface of non-treated rods and forgings, fractures after forging are not allowed. Scale residues, impurities, prints, risks, scratches, abrasive scraping traces that do not take out the dimensions of unprocessed rods and forgings beyond the tolerated tolerances, are not signs of rejection;
  • On the surface of the sheets, cracks, stratifications and extraneous inclusions are not allowed. Roll-up prints, depressed shells, traces of abrasive stripping, not taking out the thickness of the sheets beyond the tolerances allowed, as well as ripples, etching, contamination spots, scratches and discoloration are not signs of rejection. The surface of the sheets should be etched;
  • The bars, forgings and sheets must be delivered in an unannealed state. In agreement with the manufacturer, sheets with a thickness of 0.8 mm can be supplied in annealed condition;
  • Sheet metal thickness 1.0… 6.0 mm should not have internal delaminations;
  • The deviation from flatness along the rolling direction should not be more than 10.0% of the length of the sheets. The deviation from flatness across the rolling direction should not be more than 5.0% of the width of the sheets;
  • The mechanical properties of sheets 1.0… 2.0 mm thick and of bars with a diameter of 8.0… 30.0 mm should meet the requirements specified in the table:

The mechanical properties of sheets with a thickness of 0.8 mm after annealing must meet the following requirements:

temporary resistance — 686… 1078 MPa;

the relative elongation is not less than 10.0%.
