Russian steel: production of steel is growing

The companies included in non-commercial Partnership «Russian steel» increase capacity for the production of steel in may this year, the volume of finished steel increased by 2.5% compared to April 2014 and by 2.5% compared to the same period of last year, which amounted to 4.77 million tons. Pipe production in comparison with April has increased by 9.65% compared to the same period last year increased by 6.8%, the volume of output in the end was 0.49 million tons. For the period from January to may 2014 the volume of production of finished rolled products has increased by 0.35% compared to the same period last year, which amounted to 23.1 million tons, but the production of pipes decreased by 1.47% compared with the same period last year, reaching 2.28 million tonnes.

Shipped to the domestic market, the products delivered by enterprises entering into partnership «Russian steel», in may 2014 increased by 1% compared to may 2013, as of April 2014, it decreased by 0.5% to 2.8 million tonnes. May shipments of pipes in may this year increased by 1.9% compared to the same period of last year, but decreased by 0.5% compared to April of the current year, which amounted to 0,377 million tons. In General shipments to the domestic rental market from January to may fell by 1% in comparison with the period January-may last year, which accounted for 13.2 million tons, the same shipment of tubular products increased by 3.5% compared to the same period of last year to a volume of 1.9 million tons.

The volume of exports leading enterprises entering into partnership «Russian steel», in may of the current year increased by 4.7% compared to the same period last year and by 7.1% compared to April 2014, which was 1.95 million tons. The amount of export of pipe products in may this year increased by 27.2% compared to the same period in 2013, and 66.2 per cent compared to April 2014, amounting to 0,113 million tons. For the period January-may 2014, exports of rolled products amounted to 9.85 million tons, higher volumes of same period of last year by 2.25%, but the amount of export of tubular products decreased by 21.9% compared to the same period of last year, amounting to 0,356 million tons.

The products manufactured by key enterprises entering into partnership «Russian steel», is in the field of metal about 90% in the field of pipe production and 60% of the total production in Russia.
