The Verkhovna Rada supported the idea of corporatization of titanium companies

Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the draft law on the reduction of the list of exclusively public companies. According to the decision adopted at the session of the Verkhovna Rada, the amendments exclude ztmp (Zaporizhia titanium and magnesium plant), P. O. Crimean «Titan», Irshansk mining and processing plant of GOK and volnogorsky of MMC. These objects, according to the law, not subject to privatization, however, have the right to corporatization (the management will get the opportunity to attract private investment). In support of the bill, registered by people’s deputies Yury Karacam and Sergey Maiboroda, this time voted 244 participant of the meeting. Recall that at the first attempt of the Party of Regions to adopt a similar law, for a positive decision on the privatization of the titanium industry, votes in support of the project is not enough: at the meeting of Parliament held on 16 June, the possibility of privatization of the state companies titanium voted only 198 members. The Crimean production Association «Titan» and Zaporozhye titanium and magnesium plant are members of the state holding company «Titan of Ukraine.» And Irshansk mining and processing plant mining and volnogorsky GMK supply «Crimean Titan» necessary raw materials. The latter two companies are in rent at open company KPO «Titan», 50%-1 share owned by Ostchem Germany GmbH, part of Group DF of businessman Dmytro Firtash.
